SC doesn't have strep--that's GOOD.
SC is still running a fever--that's BAD.
The pink eye in SC's right eye is getting better--that's GOOD.
She's apparently developing it in her left eye as well--that's BAD.
And that's how everything seems to be going this week. Up and down, up and down..........................................
I am hoping today will be the last day with fever, and that we will be able to set off for Chincoteague on Saturday, kayn aynhoreh! And that the hurricane about to hit Florida moves further inland afterwards, so we get some nice sunny weather while we're there.
After the past two weeks, we deserve it!
And if you've read this far, you deserve something good too. I hope you have a bread machine because here's a recipe for cinnamon raisin bread that's better than any store bought you will ever taste.
Adapted a bit from The Bread Machine Cookbook by Donna German
CINNAMON RAISIN BREAD (Makes a 2 lb loaf)
1 1/4 cups WARM water
2 T oil (corn or canola) or butter or margarine
2 1/2 T sugar
1 t salt (optional)
3 1/2 cups bread flour
2 t yeast
1 cup raisins (if they are dried out, presoak them for 10-15 minutes in warm water, then drain them)
1 T cinnamon
Place everything except the raisins and cinnamon in your machine. Set it to a basic 2lb cycle and start.
Add the cinnamon and raisins when your machine signals for add-ins, or after the first kneading.
Delicious with butter, or better still CREAM CHEESE!
