(due to being sick with stomach bug, not exercising or eating right, which I have not been doing. SO many lunches on the run as we try to squeeze in the last of summer and get ready for school.)

I did stop blogging. Over the last two years, I waffled and worried far too much over what the "meaning" of being a part of a "blog community" was. In the end, it was never what I wanted it to be and I couldn't reconcile myself to that.

Thing is, I found that the actual writing meant much more to me than I thought. I'm doing some creative writing and toying with blogging that, although if I have learned anything I'd do differently, it would be anonymous.

Anyway, you have my email, so you know where to find me.
left by: Deidre Aufiero

Then And Now--Fifth "Blogiversary"

Happy blogiversary! I've lost this weight eating plenty of carbs and I stick with low fat proteins. I know lots of people who rave about Atkins or South Beach type diets, but they always seem to gain the weight back. I'm NOT on a diet--I'm eating healthy foods in healthy amounts--and I do snack, I've always been a "nosher"!

I'm with you on artificial sweeteners--I never use them or drink diet soda. Though I prefer plain water to green tea--tea to me tastes like stewed grass and nothing more.
left by: LibraryLady

Monday Morning Weigh In: Up and Down on the Merry Go Round

to loose weight eat often, small, meals, or snacks, at first you won't notice the difference but after about a couple weeks, you will be surprised and be sure to eat a lot of protein because your body needs and craves it and when you have enough of it, you don't even feel hungry
green tea is good, and also drink plenty of water or liquids, raises metabolism, also, avoid artificial sweetners, they make you hungry, even though you save calories by using them
left by: shea

Monday Morning Weigh In: Up and Down on the Merry Go Round

Congrats, don't be discouraged by momentary lags, they happen. It's "only" about 14. When I get to my goal it will be about 21.
I'm still thinking about trying for 135, but I'm not sure if I could STAY at 135.

I get on the scale every morning--it's just habit. When it bounces around, I don't fuss much--just assume it's normal fluctuation. And it sure is fun when I see it heading downward--that can boost me all day!
left by: LibraryLady

Monday Morning Weigh In: Up and Down on the Merry Go Round

I feel it's a bit unfair, as I'm just starting and you've already lost 25 pounds, but hell, I'll take all the advantage I can get. Though I can probably drop seven pounds not drinking beer for a week... oh, the suffering.

I'm alternating two of the "Firm" tapes which promise "visible results" in ten work outs, except my carpal tunnel has kicked in on my left wrist, so I can't support myself at all to do the leg workout. I'm not nine anymore either :)

It's hard to only weigh in once a week, but I know that if I got a heavier reading mid-week, I'd get discouraged and go for the comfort of food.
left by: Deidre Aufiero

She's NOT "Hot", She's Nine!

Thank you all for the words of support.

And Beth, I know the Knight is a LOT bigger and more threatening looking than the Man. But you've never seen him in a temper--he's scary. And woe betide any male who causes either of his girls grief!

Today is camp again and I reminded JR of what the director had said. I've also suggested she not talk to this girl and that she move away if she tries to approach her.

The pool is glassed in on the lower level of the Y. I went in for ballet class this AM and saw her in the pool looking happy. And when I came out of class she and the others were sitting on the side. She saw me looking down at her and waved. I'm hoping that means things are going to be okay.

But I'm STILL angry.
left by: LibraryLady
