Just as Ash Wednesday, Lent and Easter do not fall on set days of the year, nor do Jewish holidays. Instead, they follow the Jewish calendar--and if you want more information on that look HERE. The point is, today is Purim.
I wrote an "enlighten the gentiles" piece about the holiday last year--you can find it HERE. But the link to Marcy Goldman's hamantaschen recipe probably won't work, because her "Better Baking" site only allows you to view current recipes for free.
Happily, her recipe has been repeated in lots of other places, such as HERE.
So far I have baked 3 1/2 dozen-- half filled with raspberry jam and the others with apricot. I've still got the Nutella and (my favorite) prune batches to do.
Most of them are going to co-workers, the kids' teachers, the girls at ballet class and friends, so very few stay in the house.
Which is a good thing, because otherwise wayyy too many would end up, as (my role model) Cookie Monster would put it :

IN ME TUMMY!
