I never did mention the Man got into a car accident last Friday. Or, to be precise, he was talking to SC (in the backseat with JR),ran a red light and smashed our beloved Toyota Matrix into another car.
No one got hurt. He did get a ticket for running the light. The other driver was okay about things and she had the same insurance company, so that makes things easier. But there's about $7000 worth of damage done to our car--the bumper, the fender, etc. The airbag deployed, so that has to be fixed, which apparently is one of the priciest things of all.
The Man is driving a rental car and probably will be doing so for another couple of weeks. Happily the insurance is covering that as well. Coincidentally, it's a Toyota Corolla-- our Matrix is basically a Toyota Corolla wagon!
It's really ironic though. The Man worries about how I handle the laptop, and he ends up being the one who messes it up. And he's a VERY careful driver, so careful that he won't drive 65 MPH on a 55MPH, even when everyone is passing us and doing 80 MPH!
In fact, I think he doesn't like me to drive the Matrix, because he thinks I'm not as careful a driver as he is. And it's true--I'm not.
But look who got into the accident?
I'll never say anything about this to him--he felt SO bad about what happened.
And he's fine, and the girls are fine. That's all that really matters when you get down to it...............
