You can use this as a sauce or a dip. It originally came from a recipe where it was tossed with cooked green beans and cherry tomatoes, and it IS good for that, but it's equally good for just as a dip for veggies or as a sauce for pasta. And it is great with salmon!
You're using equal parts of the 3 ingredients, so this recipe is easy to resize as wanted.
We use fat free yogurt, reduced fat mayo and non-fat buttermilk, which makes this pretty healthy, as well as delicious! Enjoy!
BUTTERMILK/MAYO/YOGURT SAUCE
Combine: 3T buttermilk
3T plain yogurt
3T mayonnaise
Mix till blended.
Add to your taste: chopped garlic and chopped basil
(I used a full tablespoon of bottled chopped garlic the last time I made this. The basil could be omitted, or other herbs substituted)
